All Saints is a British girl group who rose to fame in the mid-1990s with their distinctive blend of R&B, urban, and pop music. Formed in London in 1993, the group initially consisted of Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis, and Simone Rainey. After Rainey's departure, Nicole Appleton joined, completing the iconic lineup that would achieve massive success.

Their debut single, "I Know Where It's At," was released in 1997, followed by their self-titled debut album, "All Saints." The album was a critical and commercial triumph, spawning hit singles like "Never Ever," which reached number one in the UK and became one of the best-selling singles of 1998. Their music was characterized by smooth harmonies, soulful R&B influences, and relatable lyrics, often exploring themes of love, relationships, and empowerment.

In 2000, All Saints released their second album, "Saints & Sinners," which also achieved chart success, featuring singles such as "Pure Shores" and "Black Coffee." The group disbanded in 2001 due to creative differences but reunited for a successful comeback album, "Red Flag," in 2006, followed by "Studio One" in 2016. Throughout their career, All Saints have been recognized for their strong vocal performances, stylish image, and impact on the UK R&B and pop scene, selling millions of records worldwide and cementing their place as one of the most successful girl groups of their era.

"Bootie Call" was first released on 31 August 1998 as the band's fourth official single, accompanied by a B-side entitled "Get Down" as well as previous hit "I Know Where It's At" and a remix of "Never Ever". "Bootie Call" achieved chart success; topping the UK Singles Chart on 6 September 1998, and at the same time becoming the group's third consecutive number-one hit. The single also performed well internationally, peaking within the top 10 in The Netherlands and Ireland, and the top 40 in Belgium and Sweden.

The video featured All Saints sitting and lying down in an open top car while singing the song. There was also clips of a group of people walking down the street wearing matching outfits, various people being silly with the phone, break dancing in the street and a woman playing golf on top of the phone box.
