Pulp is an iconic English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1978. Emerging from the vibrant post-punk and new wave scene, Pulp became one of the most influential bands of the Britpop era in the 1990s. Their music is characterized by a distinctive blend of alternative rock, pop sensibilities, and often witty, observational lyrics that delve into themes of class, celebrity, suburban life, and relationships. 

Led by the charismatic Jarvis Cocker, the band achieved widespread critical and commercial success with albums like 'His 'n' Hers' (1994) and the seminal 'Different Class' (1995). 'Different Class' earned them the Mercury Prize and spawned hit singles such as "Common People", "Sorted for E's & Wizz", and "Disco 2000", solidifying their status as major figures in contemporary British music. Other notable works include "O.U. (Party Intro)", "Babies", "Mis-Shapes", and "Slightly".

Pulp's musical style has been described as alternative rock, pop-rock, and art rock, drawing influences from glam rock, disco, and synth-pop. Their lyrical prowess and Cocker's unique vocal delivery set them apart, earning them a dedicated following and critical acclaim for their sharp social commentary and theatrical performances.

Although the band experienced various lineup changes throughout their career, the core of Cocker, guitarist Russell Senior, bassist Steve Mackey, keyboardist Candida Doyle, and drummer Nick Banks remained a consistent presence during their most successful period. After a hiatus, Pulp reunited for a series of acclaimed live performances starting in 2011 and released a new single, "After You", in 2012. Their reunion tours have been met with immense enthusiasm, celebrating their enduring legacy and impact on British music.
