Richey Edwards, born Richard James Edwards on December 22, 1967, was a prominent Welsh musician, lyricist, and artist, best known as the rhythm guitarist and primary lyricist for the pioneering alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers. Edwards joined Manic Street Preachers in 1988, solidifying the band's classic lineup alongside James Dean Bradfield, Sean Moore, and Nicky Wire.
