Stereophonics, often known simply as "The Phonics," are a Welsh rock band formed in 1992 in the village of Cwmaman, Carmarthenshire. The core of the band has consistently featured Kelly Jones (lead vocals, guitar) and Richard Jones (bass guitar), with many past members including Stuart Cable (drums, 1992–2003) and Javier Weyler (drums, 2004–2012). Following Weyler's departure, Stereophonics continued with touring drummers before the official addition of Jamie Morrison in 2019.

Emerging from the "new wave of rock" in the mid-1990s, Stereophonics quickly established themselves with a distinctive pop-rock sound infused with stadium-ready anthems and raw, honest lyrical content. Their debut album, "Word Gets Around" (1997), garnered critical acclaim and introduced their signature blend of guitar-driven melodies and Jones's emotive vocals. The band achieved widespread commercial success with their second album, "Performance and Cocktails" (1999), which topped the UK charts and spawned hit singles like "The Bartender and the Thief" and "Just Looking."

Throughout their career, Stereophonics have released a string of successful albums, including "J.E.E.P." (2001), "You Gotta Go There to Come Back" (2003), "Language. Sex. Violence. Other?" (2005), "Pull the Pin" (2007), "Keep the Village Alive" (2015), "Scream Above the Sounds" (2017), and "Kind" (2019). They are renowned for their energetic live performances, having headlined numerous festivals and major venues worldwide. Their music often draws influences from classic rock acts, while maintaining a contemporary edge.

Key achievements for Stereophonics include multiple platinum-selling albums, numerous UK Top 10 singles, and a significant global fanbase.
