Formed in 1990 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the group originally consisted of the original members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Crystal Jones. Jones was soon replaced by the then-unknown singer and rapper Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas.

TLC’s innovative music, which blended R&B with hip-hop beats, catchy melodies, and socially conscious lyrics, propelled them to international stardom. They became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, with over 65 million records sold worldwide. Their musical style evolved throughout their career, incorporating elements of pop, funk, and even reggae, showcasing their versatility and artistic growth.

Their discography includes a string of critically acclaimed albums and hit singles. Their debut album, 'Ooooh... On the TLC Tip' (1992), produced successful singles like "Creep" and "Baby-Baby-Baby." Their second album, 'CrazySexyCool' (1994), is considered a landmark in music history, featuring iconic hits such as "Waterfalls," "Creep," and "Red Light Special." This album earned them multiple Grammy Awards, including Best R&B Album.

Tragically, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes died in a car accident in 2002. Despite this immense loss, Watkins and Thomas continued to perform and record as TLC, releasing the album '3D' in 2002, dedicated to Lopes' memory. The group has continued to tour and perform, cementing their legacy as music icons.
