Sarah Harding was a prominent English singer, model, and actress, best known as a vibrant member of the record-breaking pop group Girls Aloud. Born in Berkshire and raised in Manchester, her path to stardom began when she successfully auditioned for the ITV reality competition series Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. She was the fifth and final member chosen, joining Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh to form one of the UK's biggest girl groups.

Harding quickly became recognized for her distinctive blonde hair, electrifying stage presence, and an edgy, rock-inspired persona. Her powerful vocals were a signature element of the group's debut single, the Christmas number-one smash "Sound of the Underground." Throughout her decade-long tenure with Girls Aloud, she was instrumental in achieving immense commercial success, contributing to 20 consecutive UK top ten singles, including four chart-topping hits. The group released five platinum-selling studio albums, solidifying their status as pop music icons.

Following Girls Aloud's official hiatus in 2013, Harding embarked on a diverse solo career. She ventured into acting, taking on roles in films such as "St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold," and made a memorable appearance on the iconic British soap opera "Coronation Street." Her artistic versatility was further showcased when she made her musical theatre debut in the production of "Ghost - The Musical." Harding also demonstrated her enduring popularity as a television personality, famously winning the 2017 season of Channel 5's "Celebrity Big Brother."

Tragically, Sarah Harding passed away from breast cancer on September 5, 2021, at the age of 39. She had bravely revealed her diagnosis a year prior, aiming to raise awareness about the disease. Her candidness continued with the publication of her moving memoir, "Hear Me Out." Harding's enduring legacy lives on through the continued fundraising efforts of her bandmates and the establishment of the Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal. This initiative supports vital research at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on early detection of breast cancer in young women.
